Letter E Example

Heres an image of a coiled spring. Hopefully this helps explain my previous post of how the letter will look from the side, but when viewed from the front will look like an 'E'.

Letter E

Ok ive tried to make this object look like an 'E', i need feedback on if you guys reckon it would be recognizable if you where never told it was meant to be the letter E.
The letter E basically when looking from the side of the E, it looks like straight lines, because each time the lines overlap the lines shift to form another level of depth, (which im sure makes no sense, lol), this is because if it would look too basic and too thin if looked at from a side angle, so from the side it basically looks like coils or a a stretched out slinky(i hope thats put an image in your heads). When looking from the front it would obviously have to look like an E. Ill try and upload an example photo of what i mean if i can find something similar for when the object is viewed from a side angle. Hope no one got a headache after reading that.

Concepts For M

These visuals are large prints, designed to be larger than 10ft, so that people can stand on the edge and feel like they are looking through a window in the ground to something miles below them.

Armadillo Lizard 3D Concept

Here's the armadillo lizard model I put together as a previous concept that I was meant to post a long time ago, because of issues getting online. The idea is a flexible sheltered space that has specific functions that the students control to suit there preferred sense of environment. The exterior also consists of neon lights that follow on a line pattern, to portray that futuristic touch. The design is incomplete at the moment, but I you guys think we could use this for the concept we're working on now post some comments, tell me what you think.

Feedback

Dear Southwark Design Team,

It will help you to concentrate on your main concept,
It should be clear to you that the main goal is to convey a visual representation of a design, idea.
You should be more descriptive and focus on: materials, styles and themes.
Also you should have areas that you are working on
eg.
  1. Planning and designing recreation areas such as common areas,
  2. Preparing environmentally sensitive site plans for the college
  3. Making recommendations on the appropriate design of structures and other facilities to insure that you complement Colleges' natural settings and landscape character
  4. Assisting in the development and review of land and resource management plans
Remember that you should have a concept, manifestations and executions.

Motion Sensor 2

Here's an improved render sequence of the motion sensor, with the layers extended out more to show a brighter visual.

Motion Sensor Light Post

Most of the students liked the idea of the automatic light posts that get bright when a person passes by, basically the light post will pick up on the persons movement as they walk by and activate it's neon lights. I'm still working on it so if anyone has any suggetions that I could add on to the features let me know asap.

Chairs

After asking some of the students, we had a few responses regarding "swing chairs" i decided to come up with some quick concepts for one, that could be placed around the gollege instead of benches, of course the design is nowhere near final.
